In 1998, Ian Prokop and April Works started their Suri alpaca farm, Alpaca Vista Suris, located in Poulsbo, Washington. During our first few years in business we have produced numerous multiple-award-winning Suri offspring and we continue to strive for the best. We start with fabulous genetics in our dams and match them with outstanding genetics from our sires. Where the right match cannot be found among our studs we carefully select stud services of high quality, national championship studs from other farms to complement our dams' attributes.

As breeders of fine alpacas, we understand that establishing a favorable identity is critical to your success in this industry. We offer you the finest dams and sires. We sell our dams to new breeders in the market and to established farms that need to take their breeding program to the next level. In case you've overlooked our selection of herdsires, we are the proud part owner of three fabulous studs ... Captain Morgan, Epazote and Fortunato. All three have sired numerous, high quality crias. We and our customer have NOT been disappointed.

In 2005 Barry & Renee Prokop (Ian's son and daughter-in-law) decided to expand our presence to the East Coast and purchased a 5-acre farm in Spotsylvania, Virginia. With this partnership we now have two farms specializing in breeding fine Suri alpacas ... Alpaca Vista Suris - West in Washington and Alpaca Vista Suris - East in Virginia. Alpaca Vista Suris West has been an active part of the alpaca industry where Ian served for 3 years as Chair of the National Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association (AOBA) Education Committee. April was Treasurer of the Alpaca Association of Western Washington (AAWW) and served as registrar of the regional alpaca show, AlpacaPalooza, for two years.
