Trump says he expects Israel-Iran ceasefire to last ‘forever'
'It’s a great day for America. It’s a great day for the Middle East. I’m very happy to have been able to get the job done,' president tells NBC News

WASHINGTON
US President Donald Trump said Monday that he expects a ceasefire he announced between Israel and Iran to last "forever."
“I think the ceasefire is unlimited. It’s going to go forever," Trump said in an exclusive phone interview with NBC News.
His remarks came after he announced that Israel and Iran have agreed to a "complete and total" ceasefire amid the rising conflict in the Middle East.
“It’s a great day for America. It’s a great day for the Middle East. I’m very happy to have been able to get the job done," he said.
"A lot of people were dying, and it was only going to get worse. It would have brought the whole Middle East down," Trump added, according to NBC News.
