UK premier holds phone call with US president amid military strikes between Israel-Iran
Leaders agree on 'importance of diplomacy, dialogue'

ISTANBUL
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer held phone call with the US President Donald Trump amid the recent military confrontation between Israel and Iran.
"The leaders discussed the military action in the Middle East overnight and agreed on the importance of diplomacy and dialogue," Starmer's office said in a statement.
Starmer voiced "grave concerns" over Iran's nuclear program, the statement said, adding that the "leaders looked forward to speaking again at the G7 in Canada next week."
Israel began its military operation early Friday, targeting Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, and killing its top military commanders and scientists. The attacks continued until Friday night, with cities such as Tehran, Natanz, Tabriz, and Isfahan hit.
Iran then launched a retaliatory attack, Operation True Promise III, Friday night.
