Germany's import prices down in April
Largest contribution comes from energy prices, down 11.2%, in overall decline in import prices last month

ISTANBUL
Import prices decreased by 1.7% in Germany year-on-year in April, the federal statistical authority Destatis announced on Wednesday.
Export prices in April were 1% higher than the same month last year, Destatis stated.
The decrease in energy prices compared with April 2024, at minus 11.2%, had the biggest impact on the overall decline in import prices.
The import prices of intermediate goods dropped by 0.1% over the same period.
In April 2025, the prices of imported consumer goods continued to be higher than a year earlier, up 2.6%.
"In the case of exports, the increase in the prices of consumer and capital goods had the biggest influence on the development of prices in April 2025," it added.
