Kazakhstan will sellÌýuraniumÌýto China in 2019-2020 once its plannedÌýuraniumÌýproduction factory isÌýcomplete, theÌýcountry's energy minister said Wednesday.
Kazakhstan has enrichedÌýuraniumÌýwith Russia and is now cooperating with China. Once theÌýuraniumÌýfactory is completed, the country will supplyÌýuraniumÌýto China's five nuclear power plants.
"Kazakhstan is the leadingÌýuraniumÌýminingÌýcountry in the world," said KanatÌýBozumbayev atÌýa nuclear event in Astana.
The country supplies 40 percent of the world's total rawÌýuraniumÌýneeds,Ìýhe added.
Kazakhstan hosts more than 15 percent of globalÌýuraniumreserves but has no nuclear power plants of its own.
