Kazakhstan will sell听uranium听to China in 2019-2020 once its planned听uranium听production factory is听complete, the听country's energy minister said Wednesday.
Kazakhstan has enriched听uranium听with Russia and is now cooperating with China. Once the听uranium听factory is completed, the country will supply听uranium听to China's five nuclear power plants.
"Kazakhstan is the leading听uranium听mining听country in the world," said Kanat听Bozumbayev at听a nuclear event in Astana.
The country supplies 40 percent of the world's total raw听uranium听needs,听he added.
Kazakhstan hosts more than 15 percent of global听uraniumreserves but has no nuclear power plants of its own.
