Turkey's daily power consumption down 14.5% on Sept. 27

- Electricity exports amount to 15,817 megawatt-hours, while imports total 10,158 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 857,548 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,093 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1000 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,481 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time (0100 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 863,418 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.4% increase from Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35.67% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 15% while lignite plants comprised 13.46%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,817 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,158 megawatt-hours.
