Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.75% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 942,301 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,806 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,171 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 943,433 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.83% increase compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.6% while lignite plants comprised 14.7%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,237 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,839 megawatt-hours.
