Turkey's daily power consumption up 11% on Dec. 27

- Electricity exports amount to 11,766 megawatt-hours and imports total 11,798 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 11% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 943,187 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,753 megawatt-hours at 11.00 local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,671 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 943,242 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 11.14% decrease compared to Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.7% while wind plants comprised 14.1%.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,766 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,798 megawatt-hours.
