Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.45% on Sept. 7

- Electricity exports amount to 12,607 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,459 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.45% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 969,292 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,391 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,281 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 979,864 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 1.46% increase from Monday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 16.8% while wind plants comprised 15.9%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,607 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,459 megawatt-hours.
