Turkey's daily power consumption up 7.5% on July 16

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 6,707 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 2,640 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 7.5% to 898,798 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 41,531 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,141 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.

Electricity production totaled 902,864 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 7.2% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 211,624 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydroelectricity plants followed with 205,295 megawatt-hours and 202,321 megawatt-hours, respectively.
