Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 5.59% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 878,760 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,416 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,178 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 877,780 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 5.53% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 22.1% while lignite plants comprised 15%.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,560 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,540 megawatt-hours.
