Türkiye's energy import bill up 37.3% in October

- Country's crude oil imports decrease 0.31% compared to October 2021

T眉rkiye's energy import bill increased 37.3% to $7.45 billion in October compared to the same month of 2021, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday.

The overall energy import bill soared last month due to increases in global energy prices and the effect of the exchange rate as well as a revival in economic activity post COVID-19.

The data shows that the overall import bill, including energy and other items, totaled $29.2 billion in October, with energy accounting for 25.5% of the overall import figures.

Crude oil imports showed a 0.31% decrease to 2.88 million tons of crude in October this year, compared to 2.89 million tons in October 2021.
