鈥嬧�嬧�嬧�婽眉rkiye's electricity production in November 2024 increased by around 8.2%, compared to the same period last year, data from the country's energy watchdog showed on Thursday.
Total electricity generation reached up to around 27.30 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in November 2024, T眉rkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced in its latest electricity market report.
The country produced electricity from several sources including 25.8% from imported coal, 24.9% from natural gas, 15.6% from hydropower, and 12.9% from lignite.
Wind, geothermal, biomass, solar power, hard coal, asphaltite, and fuel oil generated the remaining share.
Electricity consumption in November 2024 increased to around 22.33 million MWh, marking a 6.6% growth year-on-year.
Installed electricity capacity rose by 0.98% to 96,939 megawatts in November 2024, relative to November 2023.
Natural gas power plants comprised 25.3% of electricity installed capacity, while hydropower and wind plants accounted for 24.6% and 12.8%, respectively.
Imported coal, lignite, biomass, solar power, geothermal, hard coal, asphaltite, fuel oil, naphtha, LNG, and diesel also contributed to the installed capacity.
