Turkey's crude oil imports up 46.1% in August

- Production of oil refinery products increases by 23.8% to 3.29 million tonnes in August

Turkey's crude oil imports rose by 46.1% to 3.04 million tonnes in August 2019 compared to the same month of 2018, according to Turkish energy watchdog's data.

The country imported the most crude oil from Russia at 1.10 million tonnes in August. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 1.28 million tonnes and 455,194 tonnes, respectively, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly oil market report.

The country's total import of oil products increased by 12% in August to 4.21 million tonnes compared to August 2018.

Oil refinery product output increased by 23.8% to 3.29 million tonnes. In addition, diesel production was up by 33.9% reaching nearly 1.32 million tonnes, while gasoline production was down 5.2%, reaching nearly 470,966 tonnes.

In August, total fuel sales rose by 3.40% to 2.78 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
