The stock market closed mixed on Thursday with losses in technology companies' shares.
The Dow added 85 points to finish the day at 21,796 points. Telecommunication giant AT&T shares gained 3.6 percent.
The S&P 500, however, lost 2 points to end trading at 2,475 points, while the Nasdaq decreased 40 points to 6,382 points.
Technology companies Twitter and Netflix saw their stock price decline 14 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
