Denmark's Orsted, formerly known as Dong Energy, was awarded 920 megawatts capacity in Taiwan's offshore wind sites, the company announced Friday.
Orsted said that Taiwan鈥檚 Ministry of Economic Affairs had announced the outcome of its first offshore wind auction.
According to the agreement, the projects are to be built in 2025.
With Friday鈥檚 results, Orsted has a total offshore wind pipeline in Changhua of 1,820 MW including the 900 MW awarded in April.
"Following a highly competitive auction process, we're very pleased with adding further value-creating capacity in Changhua," said Martin Neubert, executive vice president and CEO of Orsted Wind Power.
"Today's results are promising for Taiwan鈥檚 transition to renewable energy," he added.
