Google will invest around 鈧�600 million to build a new data center in Finland, according to Finnish news agency YLE on Monday.
YLE said the new data center will be located in Hamina located about 145 kilometers east of the Finnish capital Helsinki with a population of just over 20,000.
The new data center follows Google's first in Hamina in 2011 and brings the company's total investments in the region to 鈧�1.4 billion.
According to YLE, Jari Gustafsson, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment said that Google鈥檚 significant data center investment is good news and an indication of a stable and competitive environment while strengthening Finland鈥檚 digital infrastructure.
