A U.S. delegation will visit Israel and the West Bank this month to learn more about issues critical to U.S.-Israeli relations and international security, a congressman said Monday.
“I am pleased to join 41 of my colleagues in traveling to Israel to reaffirm our support for a critical U.S. ally and to continue learning about the opportunities and challenges facing Israel and the Middle East,� Steny Hoyer, the majority leader of the House of Representatives, said on his Twitter account.
Hoyer and other Democrats will visit Israel on Aug. 5-11, according to a statement issued by the House of Representatives.
The delegation will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the statement added.
