The Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline's first line will be finished in November, while the second is scheduled for completion in December, Nord Stream 2 AG's Financial Director Paul Corcoran announced on Tuesday.
According to Russian state news agency TASS, Corcoran made the announcement at the European Gas Conference in Austrian capital Vienna.
Earlier, on Oct. 4 2018, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said the pipeline construction works were proceeding on schedule with the expectation that gas supplies would commence on Jan. 1, 2020.
The project, which involves the construction of two gas pipelines near the existing Nord Stream pipeline, has completed over 500 kilometers of the 1,200-kilometer-long pipeline. The Nord Stream 2 is set to hold a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
It will pass through the territorial or exclusive economic zones of the countries located along the shores of the Baltic Sea including Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
