Russian natural gas giant Gazprom has built 90.5 percent of the Power of Siberia natural gas pipeline that will transport Russian gas to China, the company said on Wednesday.
According to Gazprom鈥檚 statement, 954 kilometers of pipeline, from Russia鈥檚 Chayandinskoye natural gas field to China鈥檚 Amur region, has been constructed.
The main construction phase will be completed in 2018 while pipeline testing is scheduled for 2019.
The total cost of the project is expected to reach around $20 billion.
Russia plans to send 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to China, one of the world's biggest natural gas importers.
