Turkey's total oil imports decreased by 11.4% to 3.98 million tonnes in September this year compared to the same month last year, according to data from Turkey's energy watchdog on Monday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, dropped by 16.6% in September to 2.84 million tonnes, Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly oil market report.
In September, Turkey imported the highest volume of oil and oil products from Iraq, totaling 1.07 million tonnes. Russia and Norway followed with 873,258 tonnes and 375,194 tonnes, respectively.
Oil refinery product exports increased by 11.3% to 746,156 tonnes, and oil refinery product output also rose by 6.4% to 3.21 million tonnes in September. The increase in oil product output limited the rise in imports.
Total domestic oil product sales in September increased 1.2% compared to the same month of 2020 to 2.85 million tonnes.
