Turkey's energy watchdog听gave six Turkish听energy听companies听administrative fines totaling TL 4.3听million,听according to a statement in Turkey's official gazette on Thursday.听
The听Turkish Energy Regulatory Market (EMRA) fined the companies for selling sub-standard diesel,听which according to samples taken by the regulatory authority, did not contain the required national marker indicating the prescribed听quality.
The companies' who have been fined include; 听
Bulduk Petrol Co. who were fined TL听2 million听
Enersa听Elektrik Co. approx.听TL 98 thousand
Ortu Co. TL 1.2 million
Ozsah听Co. approx. 520 thousand
Necati Ilgin听LPG station TL 340 thousand听
and听Aysev Petrol Co. TL 163 thousand
Other reasons for the setting of fines include companies who听acted听illegally against听regulations set by the license holder, the purchase of diesel听from unlicensed听suppliers and/or听illegally filling up cylinders with听liquid petroleum gas (LPG).
Some听companies were asked to write a听defense statement for late fee payments and unlicensed acts.听
