LONDON

The second flight transporting British nationals and their dependents from Tel Aviv has landed safely in the UK, the British minister for the Middle East said Wednesday.

In a post on X, Hamish Falconer said that the second UK government flight, transporting British nationals and their dependents, landed safely in the UK on Tuesday.

"More flights will leave today," he noted.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Foreign Office said that further flights would be considered depending on demand and the latest security situation.

On Sunday, the Foreign Office announced that the government is preparing a flight to transport vulnerable British nationals and their dependents out of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories early next week.

The first Royal Air Force flight to take vulnerable British nationals and their dependents out of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories was on Monday.

It came after US President Donald Trump announced Sunday that American forces carried out "very successful" airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites.

Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran on June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, alleging that Tehran was on the verge of producing a nuclear bomb, a claim vehemently denied by Iran.

While Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes, the US joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.

After 12 days of aerial combat between the two regional arch-foes, Trump on Monday announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran to end their conflict.
