Women in Black organization stages solidarity rally in city center, expressing support for Gaza

BELGRADE, Serbia
Serbian activists staged a solidarity rally in capital Belgrade on Wednesday, calling for an end to what they described as 'genocide' in Gaza.
The protest was organized by the Women in Black, a Serbian civil society group known for its human rights and anti-war activism.
Activists gathered on Knez Mihailova Street, one of the city’s main pedestrian zones, carrying placards in English, Serbian, Arabic, and Hebrew that read: “Stop the genocide in Gaza.”
The group also held signs reading “End military aid to Israel” and “Solidarity with Palestinian civilians,” expressing support for Gaza and condemning the ongoing violence.
Women in Black has been active in Serbia for decades, regularly organizing peaceful protests against war, militarism, and injustice.
Israel has kept all Gaza border crossings closed to humanitarian aid since early March, prompting aid agencies to warn of an imminent risk of famine among the enclave’s 2.4 million inhabitants.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Separately, Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its ongoing military campaign in the enclave.
