鈥榃e are committed to revenge and to destroying Gaza - from the infant to the elder鈥: Illegal Israeli settler

JERUSALEM / ISTANBUL

In a disturbing escalation of genocidal rhetoric, an Israeli settler residing in the illegal Shiloh settlement in the occupied West Bank openly called Tuesday for the total eradication of Palestinians in Gaza, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.

According to the Israeli daily, Rivka Lafair, who describes herself as a “proud Jew” and someone who “thinks outside the box,” publicly declared her intent to “wipe Palestinians in Gaza from existence,” claiming such an outcome is part of a broader goal of “consciousness transformation” and a “necessary epistemic shift.”

The paper identified Lafair as “facilitator of workshops, meet-ups and group sessions on yoga themes; teacher of feminine yoga; and personal development.” She is linked to the “YogiNazis” trend – a fringe movement blending spiritual practices with Nazi ideology. A relatively new group yet a deeply rooted subculture in Israel.

Lafair’s profile has risen since Oct. 7, 2023, reportedly due to her “ability to blend seemingly contradictory concepts: spirituality and genocide, empowerment and displacement, yoga and starvation, solitude and total bombardment,” the report said.

She believes that “music has the power to change consciousness,” while also asserting that genocide and forced expulsion of Gaza’s population begin with “transforming human awareness” - a sharp contradiction between her supposed spiritual ethos and the call for criminal calls.

“To succeed in this important epistemic shift,” Lafair is quoted as saying, “we must recognize that we have an enemy, look them in the eye, and eliminate them. Do not do this behind their backs; we must have direct, unmediated contact with those we eliminate.”

Haaretz emphasized that Lafair’s incitements did not refer solely to Hamas fighters. She is reported to have said, "We are committed to revenge and to destroying Gaza - from the infant to the elder.”

Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza in October 2023, political, religious, and military figures in Israel have increasingly resorted to public incitement, including calls to starve Gaza and “flatten it,” along with proposals to forcibly transfer Palestinians into Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

On Tuesday, former Israeli Knesset member Moshe Feiglin, of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, publicly called for the extermination of Palestinian children in Gaza, referring to them as “enemies.”

In an interview with Israel’s far-right Channel 14, Feiglin said, "Every child, every infant in Gaza is an enemy.”

He went on to justify this rhetoric by claiming, "Every child you’re giving milk to today will slaughter your children in 15 years. Gaza must be occupied and settled.”

These calls come as the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 53,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
