ISTANBUL
Israel officially confirmed agreeing to a bilateral ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday, following a proposal from US President Donald Trump.
“In light of achieving the operation’s goals and in full cooperation with President Trump, Israel agreed to the president’s proposal of a ceasefire by both sides,” a government statement said.
Israel claimed the elimination of threats in Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile areas and full air control in the skies of Tehran, in addition to causing severe damage to Iran’s military and governmental sites.
The Israeli government expressed appreciation to Trump over “defensive support and participation in removing the Iranian nuclear threat.”
“Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire,” the statement said.
