TEHRAN, Iran/ISTANBUL
Israeli airstrikes struck an area near Mehrabad Airport in western Iran, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
Thick smoke was seen rising from the area due to fires caused by the strikes.
Sounds of drones and explosions have been heard repeatedly in central Tehran over an extended period.
