Iranian state media confirms hit on residential building, Iranian authorities yet to identity victim

ANKARA
An Israeli drone strike targeted a residential building in Tehran on Friday with the intended target being a nuclear scientist, according to Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth.
The report claimed that Israel estimated the scientist was successfully eliminated in the attack.
Iranian state media, including Press TV, confirmed that a residential building in the Iranian capital was struck by an Israeli drone on Friday.
The identity of the targeted individual has not been officially disclosed, and there has been no immediate comment from Iranian authorities.
Hostilities broke out last Friday when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.
Meanwhile, in Iran, 639 people have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to Iranian media reports.
