Syrian ministerial delegation in Qatar to boost investment ties
Syrian-Qatari relations have improved significantly since ouster of the Bashar al-Assad regime

ANKARA
A high-level Syrian ministerial delegation arrived in Doha on Tuesday for talks aimed at exploring bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities.
In a post on X, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani said the visit aims to strengthen relations between Damascus and Doha.
The visit is part of efforts by Syria's new administration to rebuild regional partnerships and revive its war-torn economy.
Syria’s state news agency SANA said Finance Minister Mohammed Barnieh met with his Qatari counterpart, Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, to discuss ways of developing mechanisms of cooperation between the two countries.
According to SANA, Syrian Tourism Minister Mazen al-Salhani also met with Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji, chairman of Qatar Tourism, to discuss "horizons of joint cooperation and investment in touristic projects."
The Syrian-Qatari relations have improved significantly since the ouster of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December last year, with Doha reopening its Damascus embassy in the same month after a 13-year closure.
Ahmad Al-Sharaa, who led anti-regime forces to oust Assad, was declared president for a transitional period in late January.
