Russia claims capture of 13 settlements in Ukraine over past week
Moscow says advances made in Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions through coordinated offensives

ISTANBUL
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed Friday that its forces had taken control of 13 settlements in Ukraine over the past week, with major advances reported in the Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
According to a ministry statement cited by TASS, the North Group of Russian forces seized Loknya, Volodymyrivka, Belovody, and Kostyantynivka in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region. Meanwhile, the West Group captured Stroyevka and Kondrashovka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Donetsk region, seven settlements were reportedly taken. The South Group forces captured Stupochky, Romanivka, Stara Mykolaivka, and Gnatovka, while the Center Group took Shevchenko Pershe. Odradne and Zelene Pole were captured by the East Group, the ministry added.
The ministry credited what it called “decisive actions” and “active offensive operations” by the various military groups for the territorial gains.
The Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions have been the focus of intensified Russian offensives in recent weeks, as Moscow seeks to push deeper into eastern and northeastern Ukraine.
Kyiv has yet to confirm or comment on the latest Russian claims.
