Experts gather in Istanbul for DevSecOps Days to explore AI in secure software development
US, Japanese and Turkish specialists highlight AI’s role in DevSecOps at two-day event held at Borsa Istanbul

ISTANBUL
Experts from the US, Japan, and Türkiye came together in Istanbul for DevSecOps Days, a two-day event focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into secure software development processes.
DevSecOps Days is being held at Borsa Istanbul, from May 28 to 29 under the theme “AI for DevSecOps,” underscoring AI’s expanding role in software development, cybersecurity, and operational automation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mehmet Ali Serttas, chair of the IT Association stated that artificial intelligence (AI) is now more than just an algorithmic toy.
“We see AI's traces everywhere from recommendation systems that penetrate every corner of our lives to cyber security measures, from code analysis to operational automation," he said.
“The effective use of information technologies in the financial sector is not a coincidence”
Borsa Istanbul Chief Information Officer Erdinc Tutam said it was significant that the event was being held at the stock exchange, emphasizing the crucial role of technology in financial systems.
“As Borsa Istanbul, we have always tried to follow technology trends and technological developments. We have tried to implement this in all our systems," Tutam said.
"We think that today's event should be evaluated in this context. The effective use of information technologies in the finance sector is not a coincidence. This is actually a fundamental need of the financial ecosystem.”
Tutam also highlighted the evolution of fintech, noting that digital infrastructure has become essential for financial institutions aiming to improve efficiency, enhance customer experience, and remain competitive.
Taskin Ozer, chief information officer at Takasbank, said DevSecOps is a methodology and a culture that combines software development, operations, and security.
“AI automates repetitive tasks, allowing our security experts and developers to focus on more strategic, analytical and creative work. But let's not forget that AI is only a tool and the ultimate decision maker will always be human," Ozer noted.
Burcu Dogan Kasacı, chief information security officer at the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, added that the event is an important platform to discuss developing technologies in a way that integrates security.
The two-day program includes a series of panels, discussions, and workshops covering DevSecOps practices, cybersecurity strategies, and the evolving role of AI in secure development.
Anadolu serves as the global communications partner for the event.
