Trump considers providing '100% effective' Patriot missiles to Ukraine
Anti-air systems 'very hard to get,' says US president, indicating Ukraine wants them 'more than any other thing' amid Russian strikes

ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is considering providing Patriot anti-air missile systems to Ukraine, describing them as "100% effective" based on performance.
"We're going to see if we can make some available. You know, they're very hard to get," Trump told reporters at s NATO summit in The Hague when asked about the potential deliveries to Ukraine.
Trump emphasized the systems' effectiveness, noting: "We were supplying them to Israel, and they're very effective, 100% effective. Hard to believe how effective."
The US president acknowledged Ukrainian demands for the advanced air defense systems amid Russian attacks. "They do want that more than any other thing," Trump said.
When asked about additional US financial support beyond NATO allies' $5 billion contribution, Trump said: "We'll see what happens."
- Russia-Ukraine war challenges persist
The US president described ending the Ukraine conflict as "more difficult than people would have any idea," citing problems with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He said, however, a meeting earlier Wednesday with Zelenskyy was positive, with the Ukrainian leader appearing ready to end the fighting.
"I think it's a great time to end it. I'm going to speak to Vladimir Putin see if we can get it ended," said Trump.
Zelenskyy said that he had a “long and substantive” meeting with Trump where they discussed how to “achieve a ceasefire and a real peace.”
