Trump says US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites caused 'monumental damage'
'The biggest damage took place far below ground level,' president says
WASHINGTON
US President Donald Trump said Sunday that the American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities caused "monumental damage."
"Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term!" Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
US forces carried out strikes early Sunday on Iran’s Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites amid growing fears of a broader conflict.
"The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!" Trump said.
Hostilities broke out June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
