ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that a major news conference will be held early Thursday in support of the pilots that bombed Iranian nuclear sites on June 22.
“Secretary of Defense (War!) Pete Hegseth, together with Military Representatives, will be holding a Major News Conference tomorrow morning at 8 A.M. EST at The Pentagon, in order to fight for the Dignity of our Great American Pilots. These Patriots were very upset!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
Saying the pilots “felt terribly” after reading reports of their operation by “Fake News” which had “lied and totally misrepresented the Facts,” he emphasized that the news conference will prove to be “both interesting and irrefutable.”
“After 36 hours of dangerously flying through Enemy Territory, they landed, they knew the Success was LEGENDARY, and then, two days later, they started reading Fake News by CNN and The Failing New York Times,” he said.
The US struck the Fordo and Natanz facilities with bunker-buster bombs dropped from B-2 stealth bombers, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said Sunday.
Over two dozen submarine-launched cruise missiles targeted the Isfahan site, he added.
Trump has maintained that the sites "were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it."
