US President Donald Trump said Wednesday he will consider pardoning those convicted in a conspiracy to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
"I’m going to look at it. I will take a look at it. It’s been brought to my attention," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked if he was considering pardons.
“I did watch the trial. It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job, I’ll be honest with you. It looked to me like some people said some stupid things, you know they were drinking and I think they said stupid things," Trump added.
Adam Fox and Barry Croft Jr were convicted for the attempted 2020 kidnapping of Whitmer from her summer residence in response to her policies during the coronavirus outbreak in her state.
Far-right groups objected to the governor’s strict shutdown of businesses and lockdowns.
