The US State Department approved the possible sale of joint air-to-ground missiles and related equipment to the Netherlands, the Pentagon said Thursday.
The estimated cost is $215 million, it said.
"The Netherlands intends to use these defense articles and services to modernize its armed forces and expand its capability to strengthen its homeland defense and deter regional threats," it added.
The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin Corporation, located in Orlando, Florida.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on Thursday.
