Muscat International Book Fair captivates visitors with variety of publications, activities
Significant turnout with 300,000 visitors recorded in first 5 days of fair

MUSCAT, Oman /ISTANBUL
Books on literature, history and science captivated the attention of visitors and publishers at the 29th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair, which opened April 24 and will continue through May 3.
Oman’s Ministry of Information said the fair has witnessed a significant turnout, with 300,000 visitors in the first five days, including citizens and international guests.
Badriya Al-Wahaibi, from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, told Anadolu that the ministry’s pavilion features a variety of historical, legal, literary and scientific publications, including topics on medicine and marine sciences.
Public enthusiasm
“The fair is wonderful and crowded. Everyone wants to come and witness the developments,” Amjad Al-Harasiya told Anadolu.
She praised the children’s section for educational and entertaining activities, which she said help enhance young visitors’ intellectual abilities.
Another visitor, Reem Khamis, said the fair is “highly diverse,” citing the presence of visitors from various nationalities. “My visit was delightful, and I’ll definitely come again,” she added.
Al-Wahaibi added that this year has seen increased foot traffic, with Islamic jurisprudence and historical books about Oman ranking among top interests for visitors.
The fair is attracting visitors of all ages and backgrounds, offering a wide array of events including book signings, seminars and fun, educational activities for children.
The fair features 211 cultural programs and 155 activities specifically tailored for children.
Organizers said 674 publishers from 35 countries are taking part in the fair.�
