The Nordex Group announced Wednesday that orders for its wind turbines in the first three months of the year hit 1,035 megawatts (MW), with the latest Delta4000 series accounting for more than 35 percent of the turbines ordered.
According to the German manufacturer's press release, the orders were placed for various wind farms in 13 countries, with Latin America accounting for 44 percent. Europe's share was 41 percent and Australia got the remaining 15 percent.
Jose Luis Blanco, chief executive officer of the Nordex Group, hailed the strong demand for the company's wind turbines.
"Particular interest is being triggered by the Delta4000 series, which we managed to sell for the first time outside Europe, specifically in Australia and Argentina, in the first quarter," he said.
The Delta4000 series has three wind turbines: the N149/4.0-4.5, the N133/4.8 and the N149/5.X.
The Nordex Group has installed more than 25 gigawatts of wind power capacity in over 40 markets and generated sales of around 2.5 billion in 2018.
