Norway's total sales of petroleum products fell to 588 million liters in December 2019, a 1.7% decrease compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Monday.
For gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume decreased to 77 million liters - a year-on-year decline of 6 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 234 million liters, a fall of 2 million liters compared to December last year.
Data from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies provide data from which the statistics authority has produced monthly figures since 1973.
