Turkey's total oil imports rose by 14.3% to 3.64 million tonnes in December 2019 compared to the same month of 2018, according to Turkish energy watchdog's data.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, jumped 21.7% during that period to reach 2.57 million tonnes, Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly oil market report.
In December 2019, Turkey imported the highest amount of crude from Iraq at 1.03 million tonnes. Russia and Saudi Arabia followed with 924,699 tonnes and 162,092 tonnes, respectively.
Oil refinery product output increased by 11.5% to 2.85 million tonnes in December 2019. While diesel production was up 40.36% to 1.25 million tonnes, gasoline production also increased by nearly 4.61% to 453,57 tonnes.
In December 2019, total domestic oil product sales rose by 5.28% to 2.51 million tonnes compared to the same month of 2018.
