The net income of French oil giant TotalEnergies last year rose by 4.4% to $21.4 billion, compared to the same period last year, according to its financial results statement released Wednesday.
The company’s revenue, however, declined by around 24% quarter-on-quarter during the last three months of 2023 to stand at $5.1 billion.
The company posted around $218.9 billion in revenue for the whole year of 2023, down 17% from about $263.2 billion in 2022.
"In an uncertain environment, TotalEnergies' balanced transition strategy, which combines growth in Oil & Gas, in particular in LNG, and Integrated Power, delivered strong results in 2023, in line with its objectives, Patrick Pouyanne, chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, was quoted as saying in the statement.
