Turkey's energyÌýministry and power distributionÌýcompanies are taking someÌýprecautions to secure country's general election on Nov. 1 said SundayÌýTurkey'sÌýMinister of Energy and Natural Resources inÌýa press conference in Aksaray,ÌýTurkey'sÌýCentral Anatolia region.
"We have taken some precautionsÌýto avoid from unexpectedÌýpower cuts during the general election," said Energy Minister Ali Rıza Alaboyun.Ìý
"The helicopters will continuously monitor the power centres and the distribution companies will increase the number of maintenance personnel," Alaboyun stated.
Alaboyun underlined that they are having some meetings about the energy supply security for the election, "We have our precatuions; however we have 52,000 km long main powerÌýtransmission lines andÌýlonger than one million km lines inside the cities to transfer power. There are open to the atmosphere. Due to these long lines the companies may have planned power cut,"ÌýAlaboyunÌýadded.

Cyber security isÌýalso among the topics that the ministerÌýand the power distribution companiesâ€� officials were discussed.
