Turkey's energy watchdogÌýlicensed 14 energy companies, while cancelling 20Ìýlicenses,Ìýaccording to theÌýofficial gazette published on Saturday.
Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) gave sixÌýlicenses forÌýelectricity generation, twoÌýfor liquefied natural gasÌý(LNG), 4 oilÌýand 2 natural gasÌýlicenses.Ìý
Meanwhile 10Ìýelectricity generation, two LPG, fiveÌýoilÌýand three natural gasÌýlicenses wereÌýcancelled by EMRA, as the companiesÌýdidÌýnot reachÌýtheÌýrequirements. AlsoÌýEMRA reapproved oneÌýelectricity generationÌýlicense to continue to produce power.
EMRA'sÌýcore responsibilityÌýis to regulate energy, oil, natural gas, electricity, petroleum and LPG markets in the country.
