France has not mobilized military resources to defend Israel 'at this stage': Foreign minister
'At this stage, and given the nature and trajectory of the Iranian attacks against Israel, French military resources have not been mobilized,' says Jean Noel Barrot

ISTANBUL
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said Sunday that France has not deployed military assets to assist Israel in intercepting Iranian missile attacks, emphasizing the decision was based on the nature and trajectory of the strikes.
"At this stage, and given the nature and trajectory of the Iranian attacks against Israel, French military resources have not been mobilized," Barrot said in an interview with RTL radio.
On Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron said France could engage in “operations to protect and defend” Israel in the event of Iranian retaliation against Israeli strikes, provided France was “in a position to do so.”
Calling for restraint from all parties, Macron had accused Iran of failing to meet its international obligations on nuclear issues and bearing significant responsibility for regional instability. He also reiterated France’s support for Israel’s security.
