Greek carrier cancels flights to Tel Aviv amid ongoing Israeli-Houthi tensions
Lufthansa Group extends suspension of its Israel-bound, outbound flights until May 25

ANKARA
Greek carrier Aegean cancelled scheduled flights to Tel Aviv on Monday amid rising regional tensions over Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli Channel 12, flights were scheduled to resume on May 19, but Aegean decided to extend the flight suspension for another day.
Israel Hayom newspaper said the Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings, also extended the suspension of its Israel-bound and outbound flights until May 25.
Transavia, AirBaltic, and Air France also cancelled their flights to Israel until May 20, it added.
British Airways suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv through June 14, while Air Canada extended its flight suspension until Sept. 8, the same source said.
The travel disruptions come amid an exchange of attacks between Israel and the Houthi group in 365bet籭.
Since November 2023, the Houthis have targeted commercial shipping in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where over 53,300 people have been killed in the ongoing Israeli offensive.
