Three Israeli soldiers were wounded Thursday by rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) fire in the Gaza Strip, according to local media.

Channel 14 reported that the soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries after Palestinian fighters fired an RPG at an Israeli force in southern Gaza.

The Israeli army has not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the injured personnel.

According to the Israeli army's official data, 5,911 officers and soldiers have been injured since the attack on Israel by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, including 2,683 during ground battles in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian group Hamas, announced that it targeted Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza and published a video documenting the moment one of the ambushes was carried out.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 54,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
