JERUSALEM / ISTANBUL

Israel expects to complete its attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites within one to two weeks, Israeli media said Wednesday.

“The Israeli army estimates that within about a week, it will be possible to complete the attack on all nuclear targets in Iran,” Army Radio said, citing military assessments.

The broadcaster said that the timeline could extend by an additional week, but emphasized that these are preliminary estimates.

According to the radio, the ongoing aerial assault mainly targets Iranian nuclear facilities, ballistic missile platforms, and air defense systems.

The Israeli army is worried that the current conflict could stretch longer than expected, a scenario it seeks to avoid, the outlet said.

The Times of Israel news website, citing military officials, said Tuesday that the army estimates it will achieve its objectives against Iran’s nuclear program within one to two weeks.

It claimed that Israel has destroyed or neutralized around 40% of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers, which appears to have limited Iran’s missile attacks over the past two days.

“According to Israeli military estimates, Iran is not holding back its missiles for a longer conflict but is struggling to coordinate larger-scale attacks,” the website said.

Regional tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched airstrikes on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.

Israeli authorities said at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Iran, 585 people have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to Iranian media reports.
