Israeli authorities have received nearly 39,000 claims for compensation for direct material damages caused by Iranian missiles, local media said on Tuesday.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the Compensation Fund at the Israeli Tax Authority received approximately 38,700 claims since the start of the Israel-Iran conflict on June 13.

Among these claims were 30,809 requests for damages to buildings, 3,713 for damages to vehicles, and 4,085 for damages to equipment and other items.

"There are estimates that thousands of other buildings have been damaged, but no compensation claims have been filed for them yet,” added the daily.

Meanwhile, the Israeli website Behadrei Haredim reported that more than 24,932 claims were filed in Tel Aviv in central Israel alone, followed by the southern city of Ashkelon with 10,793 claims.

No financial estimate has yet been provided regarding the expected compensation amount.

Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran since June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, alleging that Tehran was on the verge of producing a nuclear bomb, a claim vehemently denied by Iran.

While Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes, the US joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday.

After 12 days of aerial combat between the two regional arch-foes, US President Donald Trump announced overnight a ceasefire between Israel and Iran to end their conflict.
