Channel 12 reported direct hits on structures in the Gush Dan area, with several emergency teams responding to the scene.

Some 16 fire and rescue teams are operating at several locations in the Dan and Central districts to locate and rescue trapped people, said Israel's fire service, according to Channel 12.

The Israeli Air Force launched strikes against surface-to-surface missile sites in central Iran, the Israeli military announced as Tehran said Iranian air defenses repelled attacks around the country.

Israel also launched a new wave of attacks on the Iranian capital Tehran, with explosions heard at intervals across various parts of the city.

Iranian media reports said Iran’s air defenses repelled Israeli attacks on several cities, including Tehran, Mashhad, Karaj, Isfahan and Bandar Anzali.

• Ukraine says Russia returned bodies of 1,200 servicemen

Ukraine said Russia returned the bodies of 1,200 servicemen, confirming the fourth exchange under an agreement reached during recent direct talks in Istanbul.

“In the near future, law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies,” the Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said in a statement.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov wrote on Facebook that a total of 4,812 bodies have been returned to the Russian side over the course of the swaps conducted in the past week.

• Taiwan adds China's Huawei, SMIC to trade blacklist

Taiwan has added China's Huawei Technologies (HWT.UL) and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC) to its export control list, local media reported.

The move means Taiwanese companies must now obtain government approval before exporting any products to Huawei or SMIC.

As a result, the firms will be less likely to acquire key semiconductor technologies from Taiwan.
