Trump boasts 'total and complete WIN' on Iran nuclear strikes

ISTANBUL

US President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that the strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities have been a "total and complete WIN," defending the military action against a Republican congressman who questioned its constitutionality.

Trump went after Republican Rep. Thomas Massie on Truth Social after Massie called the Iran strikes "not constitutional."

Massie recently introduced a bipartisan resolution prohibiting unauthorized US military action against Iran, citing US law, which requires congressional authorization to declare war.

"We had a spectacular military success yesterday, taking the 'bomb' right out of their hands," Trump wrote.

He claimed Iran would have used the "bomb" if it could, portraying Tehran as a threat after killing and injuring "thousands of Americans" and seizing the US Embassy for 444 days in 1979.

Trump accused Massie of opposing "what was so brilliantly achieved last night in Iran" and criticized him for "not even acknowledging their brilliance and bravery in yesterday's attack."

The strikes targeted three Iranian nuclear sites using more than 125 aircraft, including B-2 stealth bombers that dropped six bunker-buster bombs on the Fordo facility. Navy submarines launched dozens of cruise missiles at the Natanz and Isfahan sites.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen. Dan Caine said battle damage assessment is still ongoing, and initial reports indicate all three sites sustained "extremely severe" damage.

"Thank you to our incredible military for the AMAZING job they did last night. It was really SPECIAL!!" Trump said.
